Sadistic Mika Band (サディスティック・ミカ・バンド) was a Japanese rock group formed in Its name is a parody of the "Plastic Ono Band". Produced by Masatoshi Hashiba on Toshiba-EMI Records (now EMI Music Japan), the band was led by the then husband and wife team of guitarist Kazuhiko Kato, and his wife, singer Mika Fukui.

This album is the one to get by the Sadistic Mika Band. It has such an amazing display of musical creativity that I compare this band to the Beatles without cracking a smirk, it is that good. If you like this you can move on to their other albums, but this one remains the most special/5(21).

For this album Tsugutoshi Goto replaced Rei Ohara on bass (Ohara returned for a 's reunion album,) and he brought a much more funky feel to the the band's sound, though the tight structures remained. Along with "Black Ship", "Hot Menu" shows the Mika Band at their peak, and is an album that even now I still drag out and listen to occasionally.4/5(1).
